Data Protection Officer

The individual designated to oversee data protection and act as a point of contact, required of Significant Data Fiduciaries.

A Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for overseeing an organisation's data-protection programme and serving as the contact point for Data Principals and the regulator. Under the DPDPA, Significant Data Fiduciaries are required to appoint a DPO. The role spans readiness, rights-handling, impact assessments and evidence.
